Our People

We are investigating how to make a healthy meal to share at St. Luke's so we thought that we would use fresh ingredients to make people that we could eat later. This activity gave us the opportunity to taste some fruits and vegetables before they are cooked. We discovered that potatoes and brussel sprouts need to be cooked before we eat them!
We used round fruit and vegetables for the head and sometimes parts of our bodies fell off. When we poked the toothpicks in we were squirted with juice! Long, thin vegetables were great to use for arms and legs. It was tricky cutting with plastic knives!
Our people were colourful, healthy and delicious!

Hi Guys,
This is the first time I have left a comment but I think I'll be keeping an eye on your blog as you seem to do lots of interesting things in your classroom.
I love your fruit and vegie people. Did it take a long time to make them? Did the fruit and vegie people look like they were getting older when your fruit or vegies started to dry out over a few days?

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for visiting our blog. It only took us about an hour to make our fruit and vegie people. Most of us ate them on our way home. Ruby and Connor kept their people for a couple of days but they started to go mouldy. What has St. James been up to?
Love,
Junior D and Mrs David
