Our Discoveries

We have nearly finished our inquiry on St. Lukes' Got Talent. During this inquiry we have been revealing and understanding our talents. We think that a talent is something that you are really good at without practising too much.
Yesterday we drew an outline of our body and we wrote or drew all of our discoveries about talents.

First to 50

In Maths today we played a game called 'First to Fifty'. To play this game we needed icy-pole sticks, elastic bands and a dice. We had to roll the dice and pick up that number of sticks. Each time we rolled the dice we had to add this on to our previous total. The first to 50 was the winner. As we were adding up we had to group our icy-pole sticks in to bundles of ten. We found out that 50 is 5 bundles of ten.

Working As A Team

We have been learning about dancing, singing, playing music and acting. While learning about these performing arts we have discovered how important it is to work as a team.
Our teacher gave us a challenge - to create a stage that would stand on it's own. We were only allowed to use paper, masking tape and scissors.
We talked about what makes a good team ~
  • listening to each other
  • cooperating
  • respecting each other's ideas
  • taking turns
We also found out that a successful team doesn't just have one person that does the whole activity.

Playdoh Rainbow Fish

We used playdoh to create our own Rainbow Fish. We are exploring these stories and learning how to treat others and recognising the talents that we all have.

Ambient Orchestras

We have had an amazing day today. We were encouraged to create our own dance, music and lyrics for songs about the four seasons ~ summer, autumn, winter and spring. After we composed our own song then put everything together and performed it in front of the school. It was fantastic to hear everyone applaud us!
Thank you John and Lex for helping and teaching us.

Our first post

We are excited to present our new class blog. Our school loves blogging. Have a look at the list in the sidebar for our other class blogs. We love sharing what we are doing and asking questions.
The best bit about blogging is getting comments from our readers. We love to know what you think about our work and we love it when you answers our questions.

So to get the ball rolling can you complete the following poll for us?
