Our Vegetable Patch

The Environment Leaders at our school taught us how to plant vegetable seedlings. We learnt about -

*how to seperate the seedlings
*how deep to dig the hole
*how much water to put on the seedlings
*how to push the soil in around the seedlings

Our class has made a worm farm as part of our taking action for this term. The juice from this farm will be used on the vegetable patch. When the vegetables have grown we are going to pick them and make vegetable soup next term. We will invite some people from our Parish to come for lunch and we will make vegetable soup for them using our home grown produce.

Hi Junior D,
It great the environment leaders could help you in the vegie patch. Your plan for action sounds fantastic and will really make a difference in the community. You will continue to take responsibility for the growing vegies and I am sure the minibeasts will love this new habitat.
How are you planning to look after your patch and the worm farm? What is the progress in the worm farm? How are those worms? Are we supplying enough compost for them? Are we putting in the right things for them to eat?
Keep up the great environmental work.

What a great slideshow. It was a wonderful experience to plant all the vegetables together. The environment team are great leaders. The minibeasts will love the new garden beds too.
