Bark Art

On Friday we explored 'Bark Art'.  We collected various types of bark and leaves from around our school.  We discussed and looked at famous Australian landscapes such as paintings by Hans Heysen, Albert Namatjira and 'The Pioneer' by Frederick McCubbin.  We then created our own bark art landscapes.

I love your bark paintings. You are all very creative. It is wonderful that your inspiration came from older Australian artists too. I can't wait to see the real artwork up close. How has art changed over the years in Australia?

Hi Juniors,

I just love your artwork...we can be very proud of our Australian artists...they can really inspire us in our own work. Did you notice how stories are told and history is learnt through works of art?

How fantastic your artwork is so imaginative and creative! I love your designs, they almost look like photographs. It seems like you have used some ideas from what you have learnt about considered images through the photography workshops, would this be true??
Great work -well done everyone!

Wonderful 'paintings' Junior D. The use of leaves provides a great contrast against the bark. You have thought carefully about your designs and they are quite unique.
