Today the Junior classes had the opportunity to learn about life in the olden days from one of our grandparents. We discovered some new things ~
- school went from Prep to Grade 8
- children used to walk a long way to get to school
- children played jacks, skippy and hopscotch
- footballs were made out of newspaper to play with
- families had an outside toilet that was emptied by a nightman
- a milkman and iceman used to make deliveries to the houses
- there was no fridge so food was stored in an ice chest
